Fun Shaped Dry Point Plates

with Brooke Inman

$45

As an adaptation to traditional intaglio printmaking, that can be very labor intensive and expensive, this 3-hour workshop will introduce the creation and printing of hand-cut Aluminum Flashing Dry-Point Plates. The image to be printed is scratched into the surface of a thin aluminum flashing plate and is cut out and shaped by hand, and then is linked up to be printed under great pressure using an intaglio press. All materials will be provided.

Born in 1983, BROOKE INMAN grew up in the small town of DeMotte, Indiana. Brooke is a nature enthusiast who loves animals, especially her cat (Ellie) and her turtle (Horseshoe). Brooke Inman moved to Richmond, Virginia in 2006 to attend graduate school at VCU. She happily finds herself still living and working in Richmond, Virginia. She is currently adjunct faculty at VCU in the Painting and Printmaking Department. Specializing in Intaglio, Screen Print, Zine-making, Drawing, and Color, Brooke Inman received a BFA in Printmaking from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2006, and a MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008.
