Make bright, colorful, text-based prints inspired by '60s pop artist and activist Sister Corita Kent who, as a Catholic nun, taught art for 30 years in LA before leaving the order to make art full time. This year would have been her 100th birthday. To celebrate Corita, we will use ink and brushes, free form letter cut outs and collage to make posters with messages of love, change and personal manifestos.

ASHLEY HAWKINS is the co-founder and Executive Director of Studio Two Three (S23), Richmond, Virginia's workspace for art. S23 provides artists the tools, space, and resources to build successful careers. Ashley holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking and a Masters’ of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Virginia Commonwealth University. She lives in Richmond, Virginia with her partner, four-year-old son Max, one-year-old daughter Zoey, dog named Arlo and a cat named Olive.
