Advance Macrame Wall Hangings

In this workshop, you'll learn more advanced knots as well as how to add skirts and feathers to your macrame wall hangings to create more dimension and texture. Recommended for those with some macrame experience. Option to bring your own branch or rod to work with, other materials will be provided.

Emily Nicolaides is an artist and teacher residing in Richmond, Virginia. She began weaving functional wares in 2013 when she took her first class at Penland School of Crafts. Since then Emily has continued her textile education through Penland, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, and most recently, the American Tapestry Alliance. In 2016, she began experimenting with frame loom weaving and unconventional warps. Today she combines linear and circular weaving to create nontraditional shape tapestries through custom built frame looms.

Design Your Own Wall Hanging

Learn the basics of tapestry weaving while making tiny woven ornaments. You'll learn about warp and weft, yarn selection, and basic shape weaving. Weave one ornament or as many as you can! Open to all skill levels
